Keep your computer and the surroundings clean

  Dust can make the chips inside your computer run hotter and also clog cooling vents. At least once a year, unplug your computer, open the case, and blow out the dust. Do not wipe it with a rag; use an aerosol can of compressed air.

  Your mouse and keyboard will also require occasional cleaning. You can pop off the key caps on your keyboard to get at dirt and hair between the keys.    Accident could happen every day, you can not forecast but you can prevent it. If you have any data, such as your photos, your work documents, your accounting data etc. in your computer, do not just leave inside of your computer. Make one or more copies and backup to the other media, such as:USB Flash Drive, External Hard Drive or DVD.

  Even the operating system crashed, the Hard Disk damaged or the computer damaged, you still can keep your data safety. Just imagining, if your computer or the hard disk damaged, you probably still can spend the time to re-create all of your files, but how about some data or records which need to take a long time to collect, or your old photos?   Viurs and Anti-Virus

   Virus is a computer program that can copy itself and infect a computer. The term "Virus" is also commonly but erroneously used to refer to other types of malware, including but not limited to adware and spyware programs that do not have the reproductive ability. A true virus can spread from one computer to another (in some form of executable code) when its host is taken to the target computer; for instance because a user sent it over a network or the Internet, or carried it on a removable medium such as a Floppy Disc, Optical Media, or USB Drive.

  Buy the Anti-virus software, such as Norton Internet Security, Trend Micro, Kaspersky, to protect your computer is very essential.Do not trust any freeware on the Internet, it would be the trap for you. Also, remember every time: there is not any Anti-virus software can protect your computer completely. When you browsing any website, please be careful of the trap in the website and notice any prompt from your regular Anti-viurs software.

  Treasure your laptop battery

When you buy a new laptop, one thing you should concern is: How long the battery last? Normally, the new laptop is include a SIX cell battery, unless you make a special order. One six cell new battery can last for approximately 2 to 3 hours(When it is fully charged. But after one year, it would be last for one hour or half hour, even about 20 minutes.

  How to make your battery last as long as possible??? Mind you, It is not talking about optimizing the runtime on a single charge, it is talking about getting as much mileage as possible from a battery before you have to replace it just to get a reasonable runtime out of each charge. Here are a few ways you can get the most out of your laptop battery:

    1. Keep your laptop battery cool. Batteries degrade more quickly when they’re hot. That means you should keep vents clear — don’t put your laptop on a fluffy pillow or a cushioned surface that will cover vents and trap heat.

    2. Don’t pack your laptop away in a backpack or other enclosed space when the battery is still warm, trapping the heat. A battery that’s frequently hot to the touch will lose life a lot faster than a battery that isn’t constantly being stressed. Worst of all: If your laptop crashes or refuses to shut off properly, the battery can get extremely hot when packed away in your bag. Check it to make sure it hasn’t gotten dangerously hot while stowed away over the weekend.

    3. Do not charge your laptop constantly. If you only occasionally take your laptop away from a power outlet, but leave it plugged in to charge 24/7, you’re leaving your laptop in a state of perpetual charge at the 100% point — and that is bad for the battery’s long-time health.

    4. If you tend to use your laptop mainly at your desk, exercise your laptop battery by running it down and recharging it once or (even better) twice a month.

    5. Alternately, you might want to physically remove the laptop battery if you’re using the laptop at your desk for long stretches of time. If you do remove it, don’t store it in a fully charged or depleted state. It’s best to store it in the middle — between 40 and 50 percent of full charge.

  Drop or pour liquid on your laptop by accident

  Drop the drink on your working laptop...? Do not be afraid. For the basic computer which has the basic hardware configuration, using the onboard graphic card, you can just use the cheap power supply unit, each as 350W,400W,450W or 500W etc.

If you are the gamer, or using any top range grahpic card, or there are planty of the devices each as big hard discs, DVD burner or high frequency CPU, you have to choose some good brand and powerful power supply unit. The weak power unit could not last for longer in any powerful machine, it would make the graphic card over heat, fan noise or system not stable etc. So, choose the appropriate power supply unit is very important.
